MAYMONT ESTATE

Janine + David are two of the sweetest and funniest couples I’ve met in a long time. Their personalities mesh so well, David is kind, tender and creative and Janine is beautiful, warm and passionate.  They truly fit perfectly together.  

A few weeks ago, we met in Richmond at the Maymont Estate for their engagement photo session.  They wanted casual, relaxed and an intimate portrait session. We toured the grounds of the Estate and found a few little spots tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the others visitors taking in the gorgeous grounds of Maymont.  Once we began photographing, everything and everybody vanished.  These two were in their own little world, laughing and being playful, it was these moments that I loved the most, they were comfortable in front of my camera, and just loved being with each other.  David is a joker, and can easily make Janine laugh, like big bold belly laughs, and I couldn’t resist I was laughing too! 

Janine, is beautiful, kind and giving while David is tender, sweet and an incredible musician.  They are perfect for one another. 

Once the Estate closed, we decided to look for a new location to capture more engagement photos, and while driving came across the perfect side street that had wall of english ivy and gorgeous trees… both instantly told me that before the session ended they must climb the trees…. I knew I had the perfect couple, their playfulness and candor was refreshing. 

I’m a big kid in many ways also, it’s something my husband tells me daily and so you can only imagine how much much I loved this moment. 

The sun began to set and we knew that we only had a few more moments to capture these images, the last one of the evening was the two of them walking hand in hand through the park.  

I can’t wait for their November wedding, I can only imagine how beautiful and fun that will be!
