A Beautiful Fall Science Museum of Richmond Wedding

Under a canopy of lush greens and the softest blush pink drapery, our couple Cara & Will recited heartfelt vows to one another at the beautiful Science Museum of Richmond. The grande museum greeted guests warmly and created a beautiful backdrop for our many wedding portraits. Cara was the epitome of a beautiful bride; her long flowing gown and cathedral veil added the perfect touch of softness and her lush bouquet made by Serena Rose Florals paired beautifully with her romantic bridal look.

Beautiful details and pretty flat lays were a joy to curate on Cara’s wedding day… I loved capturing her bridal portraits near the front entrance of this majestic museum. The natural light was exquisite in the late afternoon day.  Cara had many helping hands to prepare her… especially the sweetest and dearest little flower girl, “Harper” her niece.

Our groom, Will chose for a classic navy blue suit and paired a textured boutonniere to complete his look. Our couple opted for a more traditional wedding day, and forgo a “first look” but instead wanted their first contact to be when their eyes met as Cara walked down the aisle.

Will’s reaction upon seeing Cara was raw, full of emotion and you couldn’t help but tear up… and I must confess, I teared up in the moment too.  It was beautiful to witness and I loved capturing these moments on their wedding day.

They’re officially married…!!!

We had so much fun capturing these couple portraits… Will kept making Cara laugh and the chemistry between these two is intoxicating… their wedding day was perfect in every way.

The stunning architecture of the Science Museum of Richmond was incredible to photograph… I’m absolutely in love with these grand columns!

As guests descended into the Rotunda for a beautiful evening of dancing and laughter- they were welcomed with a beautiful ambient candlelight glow that filled the air with a delicious autumn scent.  Each table had a unique mix of texture to include air plants, driftwood and lush greenery that helped spark engaging conversations yet offering an intimate quality to each quest table.

As the end of the evening approached, we gathered all of Cara and Will’s beloved guests and captured this candid photo, the guests then descended outside for a fun sparkler exit for the couple as a final way to honor and toast this beautiful couple.

We absolutely adore sparkler send offs!

A special thank you to the incredible team that helped make Cara and Will’s beautiful wedding day possible.

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT
MALIE

Adores long weekends with the family poolside, dog lover, and famous Mojito maker. Barefoot gardener, skincare junkie.

As a wedding photographer with over a decade of experience, I love to create beautiful, timeless imagery that captures all the emotions and feelings of the day. From the joyful to the sentimental, and the spontaneous once-in-a-lifetime moments that happen. I pour my heart and soul into each couple to ensure their wedding day is everything they dreamed and more.

I'm originally from Southeastern Canada and have settled in Virginia with my hsuband and three children. When I'm not behind the camera, you will happily find me in my garden or hosting an intimate dinner party. My friends will tell you I make the best mojito. And I've fallen in love with the art of sourdough. I'm a Libra-a hopeless romantic, and I believe that family is everything. And I will always think that retiring to Tuscany, Italy, and restoring an old villa in the countryside is a good idea.
