CHRYSLER MUSEUM AND GARDENS, NORFOLK WEDDING

March 30, 2015

JENNIFER + MATTHEW

A CHRYSLER MUSEUM AND GARDENS WEDDING.

I am so excited to feature Jennifer and Mathews Wedding at the Chrysler Museum and Gardens.

It was a blind date that began this love story.  Jennifer was told by friends that Matt was a handsome Doctor in the Navy and was single.  Jennifer was intrigued.  Matt was everything that Jennifer expected, he was handsome, sweet and very well dressed.  They both hit it off immediately and chatted on night long.  To Jennifer’s surprise and delight, Matt called her the very next day and asked to see her again.  The evening of their second date, they connected over sushi and drinks and talked about all their favorite things, their hopes, dreams and future aspirations… this is also the time that Matt confided that he has a father and had a young daughter named Olivia and loved being a father.   Jennifer remembers fondly how comfortable and content Matthew made her feel, after only dating for a short time, she knew she was falling in love with this man and his sweet and adorable daughter as well.  Matt proposed to Jennifer on Christmas morning with a scavenger hunt and when she opened her last gift from him she was shocked and overjoyed to see the gorgeous diamond ring in front of her, without hesitation she said YES!

The Wedding Day

Many of Jennifer’s family and friends travelled from out of town to be with her on the wedding day, and to everyone’s surprise and delight, Jennifer treated all her bridesmaids, her Mother in Law and soon to be daughter Olivia to an afternoon of pedicure’s at Changes Salon and Spa.  On the morning of the wedding, Jennifer was once again surrounded by her closest family and friends as she arrived at the Chrysler Musuem and Gardens in Norfolk Virginia to prepare for the this long awaited day.  When I walked into the bridal suite, I was absolutely blown away with the beauty of her wedding gown, a gorgeous and intricate designed cream colored dress from Maya Couture lay before me…

Jennifer is a very creative and artistic and many of her details were very important and had a special meaning like the sash that her beloved bridesmaid and sorority sister held for her until her wedding day, this was tied into her dress and was a very sentimental moment shared between the two ladies.

The Chrysler Museum and Gardens is such a beautiful backdrop and I loved incorporating the architectural design elements into her photos as well.  Many of the guests that were on site to view the artwork loved watching how we displayed her wedding gown on the curved staircase and her choice of teal colored wedding shoes as well!

Jennifer loved having all of her girls by her side as she was getting ready, It was important for Jennifer to have her older sister, Laura help her with her earrings and then Jennifer took a few moments to capture a treasured image with her mother, one that has become a tradition in the Murphy family, where Mother is standing behind as the daughter is preparing for her wedding day.

This brought both Mother and Daughter to tears…

Jennifer and Olivia shared some sweet moments together…

The sweet fur bolero jackets Jennifer were a hit with all the bridesmaids and the sweet charm set for Olivia was a gift they were going to present to Olivia during the wedding ceremony!

Jennifer decided to have a “First Look” with her Father and his expression when he see’s her is priceless!  It made us both cry!

Love, Love Love!!!

Then we had some fun moments with her bridesmaids! These ladies were so funny and just loved being apart of the wedding day festivities!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful!

Jennifer and Matt loved having this time together and the Chrysler Museum gallery rooms was the perfect backdrop for their first photos as husband and wife!

The reception began with a lovely dance with Jennifer + Matt has husband and wife, and then to everyone’s surprise, Jennifer and her father broke out this incredible Father & Daughter dance which comprised of a mix of songs throughout the ages, both of them definitely have dance skills!  The toasts made by Jennifer and Matt’s siblings were both heartfelt and sentimental as they laughed and shared stories of growing up together.  The evening continued with everyone on the dance floor and just enjoying the incredible celebration and love of Jennifer & Matt!
