JAMES MONROE HIGHLANDS ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful July 4th weekend! Over the holiday weekend, I met up with Marla + John for their romantic inspired engagement session. We chose the historical James Monroe Highlands (Ash-Lawn Highlands) because it’s beyond beautiful and nestled up against the breathtaking Southwest Mountains. You guys, the sweeping mountain views on this property are truly magnificent. Marla + John travelled to us from Lexington Virginia and upon their arrival, they were instantly smitten with the property too!
Here’s a little history + fun facts (the property was owned by the fifth president, James Monroe and his wife.) Their beloved daughter also had her wedding on the property as well.
We strolled around the property together and enjoyed this time together. One of the things I love most this sweet couple is their playful, they love to laugh and make EACH other laugh, in between tender, romantic moments I would see them whisper to each other and full on belly laughter would ensue.

This romantic inspired Charlottesville Virginia engagement session, was such a dream come true! These two lovebirds are just the sweetest and I instantly feel in love them.
Together, we were pretty much laughing throughout our entire engagement session- I loved how playful and tender hearted they are towards each other. Our session was candid, romantic and very authentic to them. They wanted their engagement photos to have life, to have movement and to naturally capture who they are as a couple, which is, fun loving, playful, full of laughter + romance!
