A Sophisticated East Coast Wedding at Sweeney Barn.

Brittany and Matt planned a beautiful East Coast wedding from Southern California with the guidance and help from the incredible ladies of Planners on Retainer. Planning a wedding is overwhelming under normal circumstances, but this beautiful bride was completing her Ph.D., all the while a global pandemic was occurring.

The couple chose a late summer wedding at the elegant and historic Sweeney Barn in Manassas, Virginia. The couple returned to Virginia to celebrate with beloved family and friends. The couple chose a blush and navy color palette that was the perfect mix of feminine and masculine elements. Lush florals and delicate touches transformed this rustic barn venue into a sophisticated and intimate space for their wedding day. Darling Florals created a dramatic and lush floral arch for the ceremony backdrop. And the sweetest little floral collar for the beloved pup who also made an appearance and walked down the aisle accompanying the flower girls!

Planners’ on Retainer created a stunning balloon installation for the ceremony. Brittany chose a beautiful Galia Lahav wedding dress and paired it with a cathedral veil for an added element of drama and romance.

The couple wanted the reception space to feel intimate, cozy, and romantic and used varying shades of pink floral hues for the table setting and individual fine china plates. The Bride’s Mother purchased over 400+ individual and unique fine china plates for the table setting and creative use for the guest table number display. The guests loved this unique feature and adored that each dish for a quest was beautiful and unique.

Along with their beloved guests, Brittany and Matt danced the evening away (socially distancing, of course!) and enjoyed this time together. Post-wedding day, the couple enjoyed a celebratory mini-honeymoon and plans for an extended honeymoon in the distant future.

The reception was intimate despite the grand barn setting, the dance floor was lively, and guests young and old were together on the dance floor. Matt’s fraternal brothers sang their traditional song while everyone enjoyed and watched. To end this beautiful wedding night, Brittany and Matt choose a grand sparkler exit.
