A SOUTHERN ROMANTIC VIRGINIA OUTDOOR WEDDING, SUFFOLK VIRGINIA
BRITTNEY + WESLEY, SUFFOLK CENTER FOR CULTURAL ARTS
Brittney was surrounded by love and laughter on the morning of her wedding day. With all of her most cherished family and friends by her side to help her get ready for the most important day of her life. Brittney was marrying her best friend and her soul mate. This southern belle had found her gentlemen and today was their special day. Together they decided on The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts as their preferred venue for their southern romantic outdoor Virginia wedding. This grand building was exquisite and the large windows allowed for the most beautiful soft light to filter through as we were taking her bridal photos. Their outdoor wedding ceremony was elegant and classic with lots of old world southern charm. The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts was truly the perfect wedding venue for this couple’s desire to have a romantic outdoor wedding!
Prior to their “first look” wedding photos, Brittney wrote Wesley a beautiful heartfelt letter. It was very touching to see him read this card and his excitement to see her in just a few moments was very evident.
Prior to the wedding day officially beginning and before we had these two meet for their “first look” photos Brittney wanted to take a moment and share a wedding prayer with her closest friends and family.
The wedding details, Brittney wanted to incorporate her faith into her wedding day photos, and this cherished bible belongs to her family, it’s an heirloom piece and we opened the pages to her favorite passage and placed the rings inside. Corinthians 13.
“Love is Patient, Love is Kind.”
We chose under the wedding tree for their first look wedding photos. Brittney was so anxious and excited to show Wesley her wedding dress, and his expression was priceless, it was emotional, pure and very tender. Over and over again you could hear him say ” You’re just so beautiful…”
Brittney and Wesley are two of the sweetest, most down to earth couple that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They’re carefree and playful attitudes are why I absolutely love and adore this couple. On their wedding day their stress free approach to their wedding photos was also refreshing, Brittney’s only concern was to see Wes before the wedding festivities began hence why we opted to have a first look prior to the wedding ceremony.
Wesley was just as excited to be marrying the girl of his dreams.
Brittney looked absolutely beautiful in her Maya Couture on Main wedding gown.
The ceremony was sentimental and beautiful, escorted by her father, Brittany walked down the grand stairs of the Suffolk Center for the Cultural Arts while Wesley watched from below. His reaction to seeing his bride to be was raw and priceless. There were many tears of joy from the family and friends that attended this outdoor wedding ceremony. Together they pledged their love and devotion to one another and had a tree ceremony that they will later plant in the home garden. They brought soil from both their Virginia and North Carolina homes to commemorate the bonding of these two and their southern traditions. The reception to follow was just as spectacular and the wedding decor was elegant and incorporated their love of all things southern and beautiful. As a special treat, Brittney’s Mom Stephanie helped with the design ( A special thank you to Classy Covers and Distinctive Event Rentals for all the beautiful decor that truly captured the elegant southern style our couple desired) along with the talented Johnson’s Florals for their stunning florals and lush greenery that gave the reception an elegant and romantic feel, twinkling lights and candlelight tables also helped ensure the evening was elegant and the ambience was soft and inviting. Emily Patti from Patti Cakes outdid herself with this gorgeous wedding cake that mimicked the beautiful style and design of Brittney’s wedding gown. All the guests were greeted with this stunning wedding cake as they entered the reception venue. Brittney and Wesley along with all their guests danced the night away and it truly was a beautiful southern style wedding, and to top the night off, Brittney and Wesley re-created their beloved “Grease Lightening” song and to everyone’s delight, Wesley too took part and danced the night away together in wedding bliss!
Congratulations Brittney and Wesley! Wishing you lots of love and laughter for all your many years together!
Their send off was just as sweet as they were showered by their family and friends with handfuls of fruit loops cereal and they had a vintage orange truck that belonged to Brittney’s Dad for their getaway vehicle!
